Photo Art Friday

Bonnie of Pixel Dust Photo Art has started  a new challenge on Fridays where participants can show off photo art.   Here is the link to either join in the fun or see the submissions -  "Photo Art Friday"

This photo was taken recently just at sunrise, processed in PSE8 using Bonnie's free texture - 'you framed me'

This photo was taken  at the same place, just before sunrise, lots of mist from the river rising .... processed in PSE8 using Bonnie's free overlay - pdpa dream.

I prefer the second image -- the first looks too stark and theatrical to appeal to me. The second, however, has a nice pastoral feel and a beautiful glow.

interesting look in the first picture. but i do prefer the second one. maybe if the opacity on the overlay on the top picture was taken down a few notches it would be a bit more appealing.

The first version looks postiviely arctic! The second so pastoral and peaceful. Fun to see what different textures can do to the same picture.

Like Louciao, I love seeing how creative editing and textures can make the same photo look so very different. Love them both, but if I had to choose would go for the dreamy look of the latter.

Thank you so much for sharing your work on Photo Art Friday!

Two very different takes and each one has it's own value. I thought the first one was a "snowy wintery" scene at first. I also prefer photo number 2 - Very pastoral and serene.

Thanks everyone! I am not very experienced at using textures and such, I appreciate all of your kind words of encouragement.

Very cool editing effect...it reminds me of those metal photo pictures that were big in the late 70's early 80's (I think)...anyway both photos are beautiful with their very own personalities.

I like the second one also! But the first has a neat feel to it, too! Maybe if you had increased the contrast a bit while darkening...but, that's the beauty of editing in the computer! I love it! You can leave it for a few days or months and then come back to it! Love your choice in landscapes! Very peaceful!

I love the almost abstract striped nature of the 1st one.

I love them both for different reasons. The first is a wonderful abstract. The second appeals to my sense of traditional. Nice work.
